Project Details
Barter’d was developed around a practical problem in creative communities: many artists need professional support, but cost often decides who gets access to it. The platform proposes an alternative system where creative labour can be exchanged through credits rather than direct payment, making collaboration easier for people building portfolios, launching projects, or working outside traditional industry pipelines.
The identity uses a bold yellow, black, and cream palette supported by playful typography, high-contrast layouts, and a mascot named Shep. The logo system includes a lettermark, wordmark, vertical wordmark, mascot, and supporting pattern, giving the brand enough range to work across digital interfaces, public messaging, stationery, and merchandise. The visual tone is approachable and energetic while still keeping enough structure to support trust, consistency, and usability.
The system was extended across a wider brand ecosystem, including stationery, tote bags, out-of-home advertisements, a website, and a mobile app. The digital experience includes platform pages such as a listings, community sections, and creator profiles. These applications demonstrate how the brand could function as both an advocacy initiative and a usable creative platform.
The final direction positions Barter’d as a community-focused identity system with a strong digital foundation. It uses branding, UI design, campaign messaging, and physical touchpoints to support a platform built around access, reciprocity, and creative exchange.
