Flick Off Candle
Project Details
This project was developed around a sculpted middle-finger candle designed as a novelty gift item with a deliberately unapologetic tone. The packaging balances that attitude with a more refined presentation, positioning the product as humorous without reducing it to a throwaway gag item.
The structure uses a rigid box with a recessed insert to secure the candle during transport and display. A separate black and gold sleeve wraps around the package, carrying the primary branding while exposing the product through a front-facing window. This approach allows the candle itself to remain the focal point while reinforcing shelf visibility and product recognition.
Typography and messaging lean into the brand’s tone through short, direct copy and brush-style branding elements. Product information, scent details, and burn time are organized along the secondary panels to maintain hierarchy without overcrowding the layout. Gloss-coated gold elements and embossed details introduce texture and contrast, giving the packaging a more considered finish while supporting the darker visual direction.
The final result combines structural packaging, branding, and retail presentation into a system that protects the product, supports repeatable production, and gives the concept a stronger presence on the shelf.
